The first days…
The first days have passed here in Oman and I am sure you are wondering what I did.
I can tell you what I didn’t do… Dive! No customers because of the Ramadan means no diving. Of course I made myself useful…
I cleaned the divecenter, reorganised the wetsuits (full suits out, shorties in) and did some other tasks. In the meanwhile I got the chance to find my way around the divecenter and to be explained all the little things that are still very important.
Evenings and some afternoons were spend reading and watching some series I brought with me (Suits is cool!). And of course (has to be me)… I got the most common illness for travelers (if you don’t know what, look it up) which is still not gone and isn’t that charming working on a boat and being underwater.
You wonder where the picture above comes from? Well… yesterday guests arrived! Tom and Gary came so I finally got the chance to see the underwaterworld again. Today we sailed off towards the northern part of Musandam to visited Beechams Arch and Beechams Bay. Because of heavy winds the dive sites that can be chosen from are limited.
The diving was nice and this time I decided to bring a camera. As you can see I got closer to a turtle this time and happened to get an ok shot in. Under my text you find some other pictures I took, and before you say it; I know I don’t belong in National Geographic but they give an idea about the life underwater here. If it’s any excuse I left my external flash at home and editing here isn’t as good as back home but the main reason is the fact that I am just not a good photographer.
The coming days will be hectic, we have a lot of customers and go out with 2 boats. Unfortunately the second boat is still in Dubai for maintenance and it will not be back in time. Therefore our captain got to the other side of Musandam today to pick up a boat from another Extra Divers divecenter and sailed it back here. We took the last preparations this afternoon and tomorrow everything should go well, Insha’Allah. I will be the guide for one of the boats which is very exciting so I would appreciate my stomach holding up. Fingers crossed!
